FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Volunteer Center will host its annual Get Connected Volunteer Expo on Thursday, April 23, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Glenbrook Square Mall, 4201 Coldwater Road, in the lower level near the food court.
The Volunteer Expo provides a convenient opportunity for current volunteers—and those interested in getting involved—to connect with nonprofit and civic organizations serving the Fort Wayne community. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with representatives from local agencies, learn about their missions, and explore current volunteer opportunities, all in one location. Approximately 50 organizations are expected to participate.
The following was released:
Visitors are encouraged to register upon arrival for a chance to win gift cards from local restaurants, with drawings held every half hour. A fun bingo-style scavenger hunt has also been added to encourage attendees to visit participating booths.
“Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen our community,” said Executive Director Ani Etter. “The Volunteer Expo helps people discover where their time, talents, and passions can make the greatest impact while connecting them with organizations doing incredible work right here in our community. There is a volunteer opportunity out there for you.”
The Volunteer Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting volunteers with local agencies in need of support. Its signature programs—including Coats for Kids, VITA Tax Assistance, and the I CAN Service Team—help address critical needs facing low- to moderate-income households and vulnerable populations throughout the community.
