FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a man was arrested after a chase on Thursday morning. Police say he hit another vehicle while fleeing and ran several red lights.
The FWPD says that an officer tried to stop Billy Guerrero on Thursday after he was allegedly driving recklessly near Clinton and Superior around 5:30 a.m.
Guerrero is said to have taken off through the Wells Street Corridor, where he hit another vehicle and struck several light poles. Police say that he eventually pulled over and was taken into custody.
They added that there were signs that he was impaired, and they ordered a chemical test to see if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

On February 12, 2026, an officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly on South Clinton Street near East Superior Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop after witnessing the vehicle nearly collide with several other vehicles and run a red light.
The driver fled from the stop, leading officers on a pursuit through the Wells Street corridor. During the chase, the suspect struck multiple light poles and another vehicle but continued to flee. After several minutes, the suspect eventually pulled over and surrendered.
Officers noted signs of intoxication and transported the suspect for a certified chemical test. The suspect was then arrested and booked into the Allen County Jail.
