(ADAMS) – Youth coaches across the country are burning out and considering quitting, with parents ranking as a top reason.
A new national survey by the U.S. Center for SafeSport says coaches experienced verbal abuse from parents.
More than one-third reported discrimination based on sex, age, or physical appearance.
Coaches also cited misconduct, including swearing at or humiliating officials and mistreating athletes. Female coaches reported higher rates of discrimination, burnout, and abuse than male coaches.
