FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A man has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night. It happened around 11 o’clock on West Coliseum, close to Hillegas.
Fort Wayne police (FWPD) say the driver is cooperating with the investigation, and they do not suspect alcohol or speed, and they are calling it an accident.
The FWPD released the following:
On January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:05pm, the Fort Wayne Police Department received calls about a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the area of 3700 West Coliseum Blvd. Once Officers arrived on scene, they found a male awake and conscious laying on the pavement. Aid was rendered to the victim on scene, and Medics transported the male to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured and is cooperating fully with Officers on scene. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.
Due to the severity of the injuries with the pedestrian, the FWPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team was paged and has taken over the investigation.
