Candy, sugary drinks can no longer be purchased with SNAP in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana will no longer allow SNAP users to use the benefit to purchase candy and sugary drinks as of January 1st.

Governor Mike Braun says the move is part of the state’s “Make Indiana Healthy Again” plan. The Hoosier State is one of the first in the U.S. to make the change. Braun signed the bill making the change in April.
