ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal crash on Monday morning.
Around 6:01 a.m., deputies responded to Irving Rd and Thimlar Rd. When they arrived, they found a single vehicle on the north side of the road. The driver, a woman in her 20s and the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene by East Central Fire and EMS.
According to the initial investigation, the car was heading east on Irving Rd when it went off the north side of the road for an unknown reason, hit a driveway embankment, went airborne, and then struck a tree.
The woman’s name will be released later by the Allen County Coroner’s Office. The crash is still under investigation.

At 601AM, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of Irving Rd and Thimlar Rd on a reported vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene located the single vehicle involved in the crash on the north side of the roadway. The driver, a female in her 20’s, and only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene by East Central Fire and EMS Territory personnel. The vehicle was eastbound on Irving Rd, left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason, struck a driveway embankment and went airborne before striking a tree. The identity of the deceased with be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office. This crash remains under investigation.
