INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has confirmed the first positive case of a deer with chronic wasting disease in the state.
It was recorded in LaGrange County, which is adjacent to Michigan where CWD has been detected.
The deer was harvested by a hunter and two independent tests confirmed it was positive for the disease.
CWD has been confirmed in 33 states, including all states that border Indiana.
