LAGRANGE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police say that a confinement officer is accused of sexual misconduct with an inmate after an investigation in LaGrange County.
Jaden Boyd, 21, a LaGrange County jail officer, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with sexual misconduct with a service provider, a Level 5 felony. Indiana State Police say that Boyd was arrested at his home by LaGrange County deputies without incident. He was taken to the Steuben County Jail, where he is being housed while awaiting an initial court appearance.
Indiana State Police released the following:
On October 23, 2023 the LaGrange County Sheriff requested the Indiana State Police investigate an alleged sexual battery that occurred at the LaGrange County Jail involving an inmate and a confinement officer.
A detective from the ISP Fort Wayne Post was assigned to investigate the complaint. In mid-November that investigation was completed and the case report was submitted to the LaGrange County Prosecutor for review and determination of any warranted criminal charges to be filed.
Yesterday, November 30, 2023, subsequent to prosecutorial review, an arrest warrant was issued for LaGrange County Jail Confinement Officer Jaden Boyd, 21, of LaGrange, for Sexual Misconduct with a Service Provider, a Level 5 Felony, under IC 35-44.1-3-10. The arrest warrant was served yesterday by officers of the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department. Boyd was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He is currently being housed in the Steuben County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
