FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – UPDATE: (5:03 a.m. December 28th)- According to city officials, the repair on Pettit is complete and the street is now open.
UPDATE (10:51 a.m.): A water main break is restricting traffic in the area of E. Pettit and Lafayette Street on the city’s south side.
City dispatch confirmed the break and said that as of 10:15 a.m. (Wednesday, December 27th), police were on their way to set up barricades.
Traffic is closed on E. Pettit between South Calhoun Street and Lafayette Street. It will remain closed while City Utilities crews repair a 16-inch water main. Access to Southgate Plaza remains available from South Calhoun.
Try to avoid the area, if possible.
