Animal rights group insulted at coercion claims

KENTLAND, Ind. (ADAMS) – The animal rights group behind the undercover video from Fair Oaks Farms says it’s offended that prosecutors in Newton County are looking into claims the group encouraged farm workers to abuse animals.

Three people are facing misdemeanor charges after the video showed them kicking and throwing calves at the northern Indiana farm.

The Animal Recovery Mission yesterday said it’s irresponsible for prosecutors to believe anyone who says the group coerced farm workers into abusing calves and cows.

Newton County prosecutors say they simply need to confirm the claims.
