FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The NIBCC will bring the funny to an upcoming Zoom luncheon.
The military engagement group says they will have a nationally known comedian make a special appearance at the March 11 meeting.
The NIBCC released the following:
“Los Angeles-based comedian, musician, and U.S. military veteran and advocate Thom Tran comes to Fort Wayne via Zoom March 11 as the keynote speaker for the virtual luncheon of the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council.
Tran will talk about his experiences and how he used comedy as a tool for therapy after he was wounded in combat.
In 2010, Tran created The GIs of Comedy Tour, a comedic troupe of troops performing to audiences both military and civilian, bringing the healing power of laughter to those who need it most. You may have recognized him from the shows Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy, Black-ish, SEAL Team, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Since the March 11 event will take place over Zoom, guests can enjoy the presentation from anywhere. In addition to Tran’s talk, the virtual luncheon will offer networking opportunities for guests to introduce themselves and get to know each other. We will also have performances and messages from people in the local military community.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m. EST and lasts until 12:30 p.m. Registration is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well.
Proceeds benefit the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council’s Military Support Fund, a microgrant program for local service members in crisis.
Since 2011, the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council has served as a catalyst in unifying the military, civilian and business communities of the 11 counties of Northeast Indiana. The mission of the all-volunteer organization is to create the most engaged military region in the United States through awareness, collaboration, advocacy, workforce development and leadership.”
