FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Byron Health Center has a dozen residents and one team member participating in this year’s Fort4Fitness Seniors Marathon. Each Senior Marathoner was challenged to incrementally walk a total of 26.2 miles, a full marathon distance, throughout the summer. In a normal year, the Final Mile event would be held at Parkview Field, the Home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, on the night before the Fort4Fitness Fall Festival races. With the in-person Fall Festival event being canceled due to coronavirus concerns, the kid’s and seniors’ final event will look different this year.
“We’ll walk the Final Mile right here at our new community campus starting at 6:00 p.m. this Friday, September 25th, on the walking path that circumnavigates our new building. Byron Health Center is located at 1661 Beacon St in Fort Wayne. Finisher medals will be presented to the Byron Health Center Senior Marathoners following the final mile walk,” read a press release.
Byron Health Center provides an inclusive multi-generational community fostering purpose-filled lives by focusing on the individualized strengths of our family members and will fundamentally change long-term care through compassion and innovation.
