FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Each year, nearly 200 volunteers donate their time to help prepare turkeys for the Thanksgiving meal during Turkeypalooza. In 2019, The Rescue Mission served more than 3,500 meals to residents and members of the community. Preparations will get underway Monday, November 9th, and continue through Friday, November 20th.
“A Thanksgiving meal is often the first time someone in need experiences joy or the love of Christ,” said Donovan Coley, CEO & Senior Pastor of The Rescue Mission. “The current pandemic requires changes to how we celebrate for the safety of residents, staff and community, but nothing can take away the dignity and sense of hope the meal provides.”
The Rescue Mission’s Thanksgiving meal is made possible by the many volunteers and generous donations received from individuals and organizations in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.
