Rescue Mission remains open as warming shelter

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) –  The Rescue Mission is housing 40 to 50 men a night during this sub-zero cold streak in the city.

Fort Wayne’s winter contingency plan is in effect due to the cold temperatures.
The Rescue Mission is serving as the primary warming center when temperatures are in the single digits. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Men are permitted to stay there all night while women and children are being connected by the Rescue Mission to the Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network.  The Salvation Army is also providing support, if needed.
If you have any questions about finding shelter or other services, contact the United Way at 211.

The Rescue Mission is located at 301 W Superior St.
