Police Union follows precedent with no endorsements for election

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association – a union which historically has not endorsed candidates for local elected office – will not do so this election cycle.
The PBA released a statement Thursday morning saying in part that they encourage members to educate themselves on the issues and to vote their conscience. “Our union does not get political,” says Steven Espinoza, President of the PBA.

“Our focus is on serving and protecting our membership and the citizens of Fort Wayne. The PBA wishes each candidate luck on November 5, and we look forward to working with those elected and sworn-in in January.”

The PBA represents every City of Fort Wayne police officer below the rank of sergeant.
