Did you manage to survive the holidays without going further into DEBT?
A new poll found over a third of Americans took on more debt to get through the holidays this year, adding an average of $1,249.
That’s actually lower than last year when the average was $1,325. It includes debt racked up on everything from gifts to plane tickets. Millennials are the most likely to owe more than they did a few months ago . . . HALF added at least some holiday debt.
So who did we spend the most on? Turns out it WASN’T our kids. 34% of people said they spent the most on gifts for their spouse or significant other. Kids are next at 27%, followed by parents, friends, grandkids, and other family members.
