Police looking for whoever took LaOtto Christmas tree cash box

LAOTTO, Ind. (ADAMS) – Someone stole the Christmas tree cash drop-box from the volunteer fire department in LaOtto. The sheriff in Noble County says it happened sometime Saturday.

There’s no word how much the thieves got away with. The fire department sells Christmas trees every year to help pay for gear and training.

Authorities ask that anyone who dropped a check in the box between 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 to 8:00 a.m. on Dec 1. to allow that check to cash and notify the fire department once it does go through in an effort to find whoever may have taken the box.

If you can help authorities or if you have any information, you should call the LaOtto Volunteer Fire Department at 260-897-2286 or the Noble County Sheriff’s Department at 260-636-2182.

There’s no word about suspects in the case.
