Look deeper into Jason Lee. Go on, do it.
If you could be one Rock star, who would it be and why? – Bruce Dickinson – The Siren. First off, he is BRUCE DICKINSON, singer for Iron Maiden. That, in and of itself, is reason enough. He is a world-class fencer, right or left-handed. He flies jumbo jets including Ed Force 1, Maiden’s giant tour plane. He has beaten cancer. He simply exudes cool.
If you could go back to a decade of music, which one would it be and why? – The 80s. The scene, the music, and the attitudes were amazing. The women were quite a draw, too.
Favorite cover band of a classic rock band? – I am not sure how to answer this one. I don’t really have a favorite cover band. I dig Steel Panther, but they are more of a parody band than a tribute.
Coolest thing you’ve gotten to do or place you’ve gotten to go because of your job in radio? – I have had the privilege of meeting Alice Cooper twice. He couldn’t have been friendlier. I have a picture of my wife and I meeting him while he is holding a picture of us meeting him. I am hoping to meet him a third time to get it one step closer to fractal Alice.
What got you interested in Rock music? – My mother’s album collection. I listened to all things rock growing up: Zeppelin, Sabbath, Cheech & Chong (not rock but it fits nonetheless), Pat Benatar, Steve Miller, The Beatles… the list is exhaustive and almost unending. MTV helped quite a bit as well.
If you could be one drink, which one would it be and why? – Blood orange vodka martini. It packs a punch and tastes like candy. The best of both worlds.
What would your warning label say? – Warning: quite possibly hangry and sleep deprived
What is your favorite concert story? – I was part of a bus trip to see Roger Waters perform The Wall in 2012. A wall covering the entire front of the stage was built over the course of the first half of the show. During intermission, an arm shot between me and my friend while the person whose arm it was exclaimed “When did they build that G-D wall? What the F is going on?” I told him that they had spent the past hour building it. He was completely out of his mind. On top of that story, it is still the greatest concert I have ever seen.
