Indianapolis to move homeless camps before NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – This spring’s NCAA Tournament is giving Indianapolis a new incentive to move the city’s homeless camps. Indy Police ordered the homeless camp on Monument Circle to be moved by today.

Deputy Chief Josh Barker says the city is not moving the homeless simply because the NCAA Tournament is coming to town.

He says police and city planners have been working to find permanent homes for the homeless for years.
