WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – One of the most famous landmarks in DC is all cleaned up. Crews restored the Washington Monument yesterday, hours after it was vandalized with red paint and a graphic message.
Officials first thought the work would take weeks and require several treatments but the damage was repaired quickly.
Police arrested an Indiana man for allegedly dumping the paint and charged him with trespassing, tampering and vandalism.
