INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana House is advancing their state budget proposal to the Senate.
The $36 billion dollar plan would increase the cigarette tax, put more money into school voucher programs, and make one-time investments into broadband, law enforcement, and small businesses.
The budget plan gives K through 12 schools a $378 million dollar increase over the next two years, but over one-third of that goes to the state’s program that allows tax dollars to send kids to private schools.
