INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has signed a bill that prevents renters from having to pay unpaid utility bills their landlord is responsible for.
The city of Indianapolis had issues with JPC Affordable Housing and Berkley Commons LLC and lawmakers wanted to be sure no one else was subject to those issues. Water was shut off to several apartments after the landlord didn’t pay for several months.
