FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – City workers in Fort Wayne are getting an extra $1,000 for doing their jobs over the past two years.
The city council last night approved a plan to pay city employees $1,000 “hazard pay” bonuses.
There are just over 1,700 city workers who will qualify, which puts the price tag at just over $1.7 million dollars.
City Councilman Tom Didier says the $1,000 is the least that Fort Wayne can do for the people who worked through the worst of the coronavirus.
