FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Fort Wayne office building was damaged in a fire early Thursday morning off W. Washington Center Rd.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that crews responded to the 6000 block of North Oak Blvd. at 3:09 a.m. in the Village of North Oak.
Firefighters found flames coming from the exterior of the structure. After extinguishing the visible fire, they learned it had spread to the attic.
It took about 20 minutes to get the flames under control. The building has moderate fire, smoke, and water damage. No injuries were reported.
Crews expected it would take several hours to “overhaul and investigate.”

Crews arrived at the office building of Village of North Oak and found fire on the exterior of the structure. After extinguishing the visible fire the found it had extended into the attic area of the structure. Truck crews ventilated the roof and gave the interior crew the ability to gain access via an interior staircase and extinguish the fire. The fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes. Crews will remain on scene for several hours to overhaul and investigate. FWFD was assisted by FWPD,TRAA,NIPSCO,AEP,NCE and Building Dept.
