WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – COVID booster shots for five to eleven-year-olds could be getting closer to reality.
The FDA is expected to authorize the booster for kids in that age range, possibly before the end of the day. The booster would be from Pfizer and its partner BioNTech.
A CDC advisory panel is set to meet on Thursday. It would then fall to the agency’s director Dr. Rochelle Walensky to make a determination.
Individuals 12 and older are currently eligible for a booster if they’re at least five months removed from getting their second dose.
