UPDATE (March 16, 2023):
PUTNAM CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Shipments of hazardous waste from the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment are again coming into Indiana.
The shipments resumed Tuesday after third-party testing was done on the materials.
The tests by Pace Labs showed there were not dangerous levels of dioxins in the waste. Governor Holcomb says future shipments will also be tested.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Governor Holcomb is releasing the third-party test results from the hazardous waste brought into the Hoosier state from East Palestine, Ohio.
Pace Labs tested the materials shipped into a Putnam County landfill from the train derailment site over the weekend.
The results found the waste does not contain dangerous levels of dioxins, which can cause cancer.
Holcomb says additional testing will also be done on any more waste brought into the state in the future.

PUTNAM CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – A third party will do testing on the toxic waste being brought to a Putnam County landfill from the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced the testing plan Thursday.
He says Pace Labs will test the materials. Sampling starts today.

PUTNAM CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Community members in Putnam County are speaking out after waste from the trail derailment in East Palestine, Ohio was brought to a nearby landfill.
Heritage Environmental says three truckloads of contaminated soil have already arrived. One-hundred truck-fulls are expected to be received in Roachdale in total.
A public meeting was held Wednesday at the Russellville Community Center where residents spoke out against the plan.
Heritage Environmental says they will be closely monitoring to ensure no waste is leaked.

ROACHDALE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A landfill in northeast Putnam County will be receiving contaminated waste from the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The EPA says the landfill and an incinerator in Grafton, Ohio will get the waste. The Putnam County facility is in Roachdale, with a population of about 1,000 people.
