AVOW to host civil conversation on “eviction epidemic”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – AVOW (Advancing Voices of Women) will sponsor a Civil Conversation titled “Eviction Epidemic” 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Barr Street Market, corner of Barr and Wayne streets.

Fort Wayne ranked 13th in the nation for evictions, and that was before the COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees will hear panelists discuss the issues that contribute to that undesirable position and learn about laws governing landlord/tenant actions.

Panelists include Kelly Lundberg, Director of the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, City of Fort Wayne; Andrew Thomas, staff attorney at Indiana Legal Services; and Jeff Vaughan, local landlord.

Attendees are asked to wear a mask and bring their own chair.
