FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says that five people are in the Allen County Jail after they allegedly robbed a gas station on Friday evening.
Three women and two men entered the Circle K gas station on Engle Road at the same time, with one woman starting a fight with a clerk before the others started assaulting the employee. Police say the attack resulted in $15,000 in damage to the store. Shaniya Arnold, Denasia Williams, Denise Williams, Christopher Harris, and Devon Stewart were all arrested.
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) released the following:
On Friday, May 8th, 2026, around 6:25 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to 3730 Engle Rd., The Circle K gas station, in reference to a disturbance. Shortly thereafter, the call was upgraded to a strong-arm robbery. Witnesses provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, as well as the direction of travel. An Indiana State Police (ISP) trooper located the vehicle, and a traffic stop was initiated with assistance from FWPD officers.
According to the store employee, five individuals (three females and two males) entered the business together. One of the females approached the employee and began to throw items at the employee. The same female allegedly damaged register equipment and a kiosk inside the store. The five suspects subsequently assaulted the employee, causing apparent injuries. During the assault, one of the male suspects reportedly took merchandise from the store without paying and then continued the assault of the employee. Initial estimates indicate approximately $15,000 in damage was caused to the convenience store of the gas station.

Devon E. Stewart, (male black, 31-year-old): Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury (Level 3 Felony), Battery resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury (Level 6 Felony), and Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor)
Denise V. Williams (female black, 27-year-old): Battery resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury (Level 6 Felony), Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor), and Criminal Conversion (Class A Misdemeanor)
Christopher A. Harris (male black, 30-year-old): Battery resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury (Level 6 Felony) and Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor)
Denasia V Williams (female black, 22-year-old): Battery resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury (Level 6 Felony), Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief (Class A Misdemeanor)
Shaniya E. Arnold (female black, 21-year-old): Battery resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury (Level 6 Felony), Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor), and False Identity Statement (Class A Misdemeanor)
