INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The online platforms Discord and Roblox are being sued by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita for not doing enough to keep predators away from children.
Rokita’s lawsuit is seeking injunctive and declaratory relief along with civil penalties and the “disgorgement of all money and benefits obtained from the unlawful, unfair, abusive and deceptive conduct.”
It cites the case of Hailey Buzbee, a 17-year-old girl from Fishers who was found dead in Ohio after she met a 39-year-old man through Roblox and Discord. The lawsuit also says Roblox is “fully aware that grossly inappropriate, sexually explicit, and dangerous experiences pervade Roblox, and it allows them to continue to exist unchecked.”
