FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – After nearly two decades of music, memories, and community, the Allen County Public Library’s summer concert series “Rock the Plaza” will take its final bow this summer with one last concert on Friday, July 18, from 4–10 p.m. A rain date is scheduled for August 1.
Launched in 2007 at a time when live music opportunities in Fort Wayne were limited, Rock the Plaza quickly grew into a beloved summer tradition—showcasing local talent, drawing thousands of attendees, and helping cultivate the region’s vibrant music scene.
ACPL representatives released the following:
This year’s farewell lineup reflects that legacy, featuring crowd favorites and standout performers from across the years: URB, Phil’s Family Lizard, Pop n Fresh, Alicia Pyle & the Locals, and Pink Droyd. The extended concert will serve as both a reunion and a celebration of the artists and audiences who made the series special.
“Rock the Plaza has always been about bringing people together through music,” said longtime volunteer Kyle Haller. “I’ve seen firsthand how this stage gave local artists a place to shine and helped build a real sense of community. It’s bittersweet to see it end, but I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than one last night of incredible music.”
While the decision to conclude the series was difficult for ACPL leaders, it also reflects the evolution of both the community and the library. Fort Wayne now boasts a thriving live music ecosystem, and the Allen County Public Library continues to adapt its resources and programming to meet changing community needs.
This final concert is made possible through the generous support of the ACPL Foundation and Beers Mallers, LLP, whose commitment has helped sustain Rock the Plaza and its impact over the years. The event is free and open to the public. For the duration of the concert, parking at the downtown library will be free as well.
The community is invited to come together one more time—to sing, dance, and celebrate a program that has left a lasting mark on Fort Wayne.
