ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced the beginning of the multi-phase U.S. 30 Corridor Improvements Project.
INDOT says the purpose of the project is to help reduce congestion, improve safety, and accommodate future corridor growth along U.S. 30 from Kroemer Road to Stahlhut Road.

INDOT released the following:
The overall project includes:
Constructing a diverging diamond interchange at Flaugh Road
Removing the traffic signal at Kroemer Road to only turn right onto or off of U.S. 30
Constructing an overpass at O’Day Road, removing access to U.S. 30
Closing the Stahlhut Road intersection at U.S. 30
Updates to California Road, including roundabouts at the intersections of California/Flaugh Road and California/Kroemer Road
During the 2026 construction season, work on the Flaugh Road diverging diamond interchange will take place. The new interchange is being built just to the west of existing Flaugh Road. The interchange will also feature bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Construction of a roundabout on Flaugh Road will also take place.
Motorists can expect little to no traffic impacts during the construction of the new Flaugh Road interchange. Crews will have lane closures on U.S. 30 when necessary.
INDOT held public and private meetings with the community over several years to gather feedback in order to best plan for and design the improvements to this stretch of U.S. 30. Materials from the past public meetings are available here.
The U.S. 30 Corridor Improvements Project was not part of ProPEL U.S. 30, which identified transportation needs and goals of U.S. 30 across Indiana. Results of that study can be found here.
Drivers are encouraged to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
