FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A home on the south side of Fort Wayne suffered heavy damage in a fire Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the flames at the home in the 400 block of Fairfax Avenue off of Hoagland Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
No one was home when the fire started. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department released the following:
Fort Wayne Allen County 911 received a call reporting a house on fire on the Southwest side of town. Fort Wayne Fire Battalion Chief 11 was first to arrive to a 1 floor house with fire and smoke venting from a window. Fire crews entered the home to search for victims and extinguish the fire. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries occurred at this emergency. The home sustained heavy fire damage. The cause is being investigated.
