INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A scaled-back bill allowing public schools to display the Ten Commandments has been approved by the state House Education Committee.
The bill leaves the decision over whether or not to put up the religious text up to the individual schools.
The Ten Commandments would have been required to be displayed in classrooms and school libraries before the bill was amended.
A House vote is expected by Monday.
