UPDATE (January 23, 2026):
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill that would have allowed online sales for the Hoosier Lottery has died in the Indiana Legislature.
The bill was approved by an Indiana House committee on January 8th, but was not called up for a vote by the full House. House Public Police Committee chair Ethan Manning says it did not have enough support from either Republicans or Democrats to move forward.
Manning says they, as a Legislature, are not ready to move on to any online gambling forms.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill to allow online lottery sales has passed the Indiana House Public Policy Committee. Lottery officials have been pushing for online sales for several years, as Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan are among the 18 states with those sales.
Officials say if the bill is approved and signed by Governor Braun, online lottery sales wouldn’t start until the summer of 2027 due to the time needed to hire vendors and set up measures to prove buyers are 18 or older and within Indiana state lines. The bill is now before the full House.
