UPDATE (December 5, 2025):
The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a shooting at a gas station near downtown Fort Wayne. Police responded to the Amoco gas station on E. Washington Blvd. around 6:20 p.m. last Tuesday and found a man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
On Friday, the coroner identified the victim as 45-year-old Scott Reed Armstrong of Fort Wayne. His cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
On Wednesday, 34-year-old Domonique Drew was arrested in connection with the shooting after allegedly admitting to being the shooter.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified, and made notification to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was found in the parking lot of Sunoco Gas Station, 437 East Washington Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 18:19 hours, Tuesday, December, 2, 2025. He has been positively identified as Scott Reed Armstrong, Male, White, age 45 of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot and found Scott Reed Armstrong unresponsive. Three Rivers Ambulance Authority transported him to Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Scott Reed Armstrong’s Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide. Scott Reed Armstrong is the 34th Homicide for Fort Wayne, Allen County in 2025.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say an arrest was quickly made after a man was shot off East Washington, close to Clay Street. It happened around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at an Amoco gas station.
By 1:30 Wednesday morning, the Fort Wayne Police Department said the victim had died and announced that 34-year-old Dominique Drew had been arrested in a traffic stop and preliminarily charged with the man’s murder.

On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to a shooting call at 437 E. Washington Blvd., Amoco Gas Station. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male on the parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a local hospital, where the ER staff determined that his injuries were life- threatening.
At this time, there is no known threat to the public. FWPD detectives are currently canvassing the area for witnesses, evidence, and camera footage. Around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police put out the word that a suspect was taken into custody and that the unidentified victim had died.

Preliminary Charges: Murder
On December 2, 2025, at approximately 1820 hours, Fort Wayne Police Officers responded to the 400 block of E. Washington Blvd in reference a shooting investigation. Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics arrived and transported the adult male victim to an area medical trauma center in life threatening condition. The adult male eventually succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced deceased. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit responded and conducted a criminal investigation. Domonique Drew 34yoa was identified as the shooting suspect, and at approximately 2215 hours, Drew was taken into custody in a traffic stop at S. Clinton St and E. Jefferson Blvd. Drew is currently being held at the Allen County Jail and is preliminarily charged with Murder.
