The event recognized community members, neighborhood advocates, and former elected leaders whose vision and persistence led to significant clean-water and neighborhood-protection improvements.
This milestone reflects one of the largest environmental and public-infrastructure commitments in Fort Wayne’s history — protecting rivers, reducing basement backups, and strengthening neighborhoods for decades to come.
“This moment belongs to the residents and neighborhood leaders who never stopped advocating for cleaner rivers and stronger infrastructure,” said Kumar Menon, Director of City Utilities. “Their persistence and partnership helped shape a healthier, more resilient community for generations to come.”
Cleaner Rivers. Stronger Neighborhoods. Enduring Legacy.
