ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says that crews will close State Road 37 for seal coat operations.
Work on the seal coating is scheduled to take place on October 1 between State Road 101 and the Ohio state line. This work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
INDOT released the following:
Work is expected to take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drivers will need to seek an alternate route during this time.
During seal coat operations, existing pavement is coated with liquid asphalt, which seals cracks and provides waterproof protection. This extends the service life of the roadway and lowers maintenance costs. Once the roadway is coated with liquid asphalt, loose aggregate is applied and excess material is swept from the roadway. After a curing period, crews will return to fog seal the new driving surface and apply pavement markings.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active work zones.
