INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) recently joined Gov. Mike Braun, Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith, Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb, and other stakeholders for a letter of intent signing with Taiwan officials at the Statehouse. The move is aimed at supporting Hoosier farmers and agriculture.
Taiwan signed two letters of intent with both the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and the Indiana Soybean Alliance to purchase nearly $6.4 billion of U.S. corn and soybeans over the next four years.
The following was released:
“During my recent trip to Taiwan, we discussed ways to bring new business opportunities to Indiana further expanding trade and reinforcing the strong economic ties between our state and Taiwan,” Abbott said. “This is a fantastic example of that partnership and a boon for Hoosier farmers. Indiana remains a global leader in agriculture thanks to our world-class farm families and businesses.”

State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) represents House District 18, which includes portions of Elkhart, Kosciusko, Noble and Whitley counties.
