FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City says its’ Summit City Entrepreneur & Enterprise District (SEED) is now taking applications for the third BUILD course designed specifically for small-scale developers and builders.
SEED Fort Wayne, part of the City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division, will offer the 12-week program beginning on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., September 30 – December 16.

There is a $275 cost for the classes, which focus on real estate development, including developing single-family and multi-family housing on infill lots. Participants who successfully complete the Small-Scale Developers & Builders course may be eligible to participate in A Lot to Love, a City program that offers incentives to support development on City-owned properties.
The first six weeks of the course focus on entrepreneurship foundations, providing participants with a platform to create a business plan, a key tool for securing business funding. Participants will also hear from industry experts on a range of topics critical to launching and growing a business.
The second six weeks focus on the skills required for small-scale development, such as financial modeling, zoning, permitting and construction management. This portion of the cohort will be led by local small-scale developers from the nonprofit The Workshop Fort Wayne.
SEED Fort Wayne’s BUILD program is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and strengthen neighborhood development.
