ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says one person died as a result of a crash in southeast Allen County.
Officers were called out around 4:15 Thursday afternoon to Hoagland and Grotrian roads. They found a pickup truck that had gone off the road and rolled into a field, and the male driver had been ejected. He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
At approximately 4:15pm, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the intersection of Hoagland Road and Grotrian Road for a reported vehicle crash with injuries. Hoagland Fire and EMS personnel also responded to the scene and located a pickup truck off the roadway that had rolled at least one time. It was reported the driver, an adult male, had been ejected during the crash. Fire and EMS personnel located the driver of the pickup and began treating the him. During transport to an area hospital, the driver of the pickup was pronounced deceased. Prior to the crash, the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Hoagland Road, west of Grotrian Road, when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
