FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says one person was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday night at Paulding and Calhoun.
Police say that the vehicle sped away from the scene, and right now, they do not have a description.

The FWPD released the following:
The Fort Wayne Police Department received multiple calls of a person in down in the roadway near the intersection of Paulding Rd. & Calhoun St on June 14, 2025, shortly after 10:00 pm. At least one caller reported the person was shot and another caller reported the person being struck by a vehicle which fled the scene of the crash.
Officers arrived locating an injured person in the roadway. Officers began providing medical aid, including CPR, until medics arrived to provide a higher level of care.
The person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The person was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The initial investigation indicates the person was not shot and only a victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash. Officers continue to interview witnesses, locate surveillance videos, and collect evidence at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT team, the Allen County Coroner’s Office and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
