(ADAMS) – The CDC, FDA, and public health officials in several states are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to eggs.
79 people across seven states have gotten sick with the same strain of Salmonella that has been tied to the recalled eggs.
So far, 21 people have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported. On Friday, August Egg Company, based in Hilmar, California, recalled over a million packages of brown cage-free and brown certified organic eggs due to potential salmonella contamination

The recalled eggs were sold to retailers including Walmart and restaurants in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, and Wyoming.
