The FWPD released the following:
On Monday, June 2nd, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to the area of the Lima and W. Dupont Roads intersection following a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian was crossing the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Lima Road. Medics arrived on the scene and took the male to the hospital. Medical staff later determined that the man’s injuries to be life-threatening. Due to the severity of the injuries, the FWPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team was paged and has taken over the investigation. Currently, alcohol and speed do NOT appear to be contributing factors. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
