FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says a child is in stable condition after they were shot inside their Oliver Street home early Wednesday morning.
Just before 3 a.m. FWPD officers were sent to the 4000 block of Oliver, close to Rudisill Boulevard, and located the child who was shot while inside the home by someone outside.
An ambulance transported the child to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
The FWPD released the following:
On 5/21/2025 at 0249 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Oliver Street reference a shooting investigation. Upon arrival, officers located a seven-year-old child suffering from multiple gunshot wound(s). The child was inside a home at the time of the shooting and the shots came from outside the home. The child was rendered medical attention on scene and medics transported the child to a local hospital for medical attention. The child is in stable condition at this time.
The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit is conducting the criminal investigation and is seeking any information that could assist. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
