INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana is opting out of the federal program that provides food for qualifying children in the summer months.
SUN Bucks gives $120 per child each month to families who qualify for food benefits and reduced-price meals at school.
The program has 669,000 children enrolled from the Hoosier state in 2024.
Indiana officials have notified the federal oversight agency that they will not enroll any children in the program this year but have yet to comment on why.
