UPDATE (April 16, 2025):
The victim in a fatal double-shooting off Hobson Road over the weekend has been identified. The Allen County Coroner says Keitron Adams died of a gunshot wound to the chest and ruled his death a homicide.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office realeased the following on Tuesday:
On Sunday, April 13th, 2025, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting in the 2100 block of Hobson Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as Keitron Demos Adams, 21, male, Black of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
An autopsy has been completed, and notification has been made to the legal next of kin. The Cause of Death is Gunshot Wound of Chest, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Keitron Demos Adams is the 11th homicide for Allen County in 2025.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
UPDATE (April 15, 2025):
The Fort Wayne Police Department says an arrest has been made in a Sunday morning shooting off Hobson Road that killed one man and injured another. 33-year-old Shontrel Bright is now facing charges of Murder and Attempted Murder.
The FWPD released the following:
On April 13, 2025, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Hobson Rd in reference to two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on-scene, one victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, and one victim was transported to an area trauma hospital in life-threatening condition. FWPD Homicide Detectives responded to conduct the criminal investigation. On April 14, 2025, Homicide Detectives identified Shontrel Bright 33yo as the suspect in the shooting/homicide investigation. The Homicide Task Force located Bright in the 1900 block of Hobson Rd and took him into custody without incident. Bright is currently confined at the Allen County Jail and is preliminarily charged with Murder and Attempted Murder.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A man is dead and another is in life-threatening condition following an overnight shooting.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD), officers responded to the 2100 block of Hobson Road at approximately 1:15 Sunday morning.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics arrived shortly after and attempted life-saving measures. The man was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police say that it was about the same time when another man arrived at a local hospital, also reported to be a victim of the shooting. His injuries were deemed life-threatening. All other details about this shooting remain unclear, including what led to the shooting.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting incident which occurred this morning, Sunday, April 13, 2025 at approximately 1:15AM, leaving one adult, male deceased and another in life-threatening condition. Officers with FWPD received reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of Hobson Rd and located a male, adult suffering from gunshot wounds upon arrival. Medics from Fort Wayne Fire and TRAA arrived and attempted life saving measures, before pronouncing the male deceased. While first responders worked the initial location, it was reported that a second victim in the shooting transported himself to a local hospital, where his injuries were deemed life-threatening.
A page was then initiated for FWPD Homicide Detectives, ASU(Aerial Support Unit), Crime Scene Investigators and the Coroner’s Office. Personnel on scene are using all resources available to investigate this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s office.
