FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division announced on Wednesday, Mary Tyndall as its new public information officer. She began her duties on March 3.
Tyndall is an experienced communications professional having served two previous times with the City of Fort Wayne as a public information officer in Community Development from 2012-2020 as well as public information director for the mayor’s office from 1995-1999.
Most recently, Tyndall worked in philanthropy for the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation and Foellinger Foundation. Tyndall has nearly 35 years of experience in media relations, public outreach, strategic communications, grant management, and non-profit program administration.
“Mary is an accomplished leader and brings many strong attributes to the role of public information officer,” said Jonathan Leist, director, City of Fort Wayne Community Development Division. “With several exciting initiatives underway in Community Development, Mary is the right person to oversee our efforts to communicate with the public and media about how we’re working to build a stronger quality of life through downtown and neighborhood revitalization projects and programs.”
Tyndall replaces Elizabeth Lewis who recently accepted a new role as director of the Summit City Entrepreneur and Enterprise District (SEED) through the Community Development Division. Lewis served as the Community Development Division public information officer from November 2022-February 2025.
