FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a man was taken into custody following a chase on Tuesday.
Around 2 p.m., a 911 call was made reporting a driver who was allegedly aiming a firearm at passing vehicles. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near the intersection of Lafayette and Leith streets, the driver fled, leading to a brief and slow pursuit, as described by FWPD.
After the car eventually stopped, the driver remained inside, reportedly refused to comply with commands to exit peacefully. He then threw a gun out of the window before he got out and was taken into custody.

On Tuesday March 4th 2025 just after 2pm officers were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and Rudisill regarding A male driving a gold Saturn pointing a firearm at people. Officers ocated the vehicle in the area of Lafayette and Leith and attempted to conduct a traffic stop . The vehicle refused to yield and continued North on Lafayette at a low rate of speed. Tire deflation devices were effectively deployed, and the vehicle eventually came to a stop on 4th street in the parking lot near the Lawton Skate Park. The driver identified as Nicholas Ebbing, initially refused to exit the vehicle. He eventually discarded a firearm out the window before finay exiting the vehicle where he was taken into custody.
