New bill would offer grants to sheriff’s departments that sign ICE agreements

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Senate is passing a measure to offer grants to Indiana sheriff’s departments that sign agreements with ICE.

Senate Bill 430 would allow the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to offer federal grant money to the sheriff’s departments who sign. The agreements allow ICE to delegate immigration officer duties to state and local law enforcement.
