The FWFD released the following:
Fort Wayne Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire near the Baseball Field at Concordia High School at approximately 10:17 this evening. The first arriving unit found a significant amount of smoke and fire coming from one of the bathrooms attached to a maintenance garage near the baseball field. Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the bathrooms and prevented the fire from extending into the larger maintenance building. The cold weather and ice formation on the parking lot did not hamper the suppression efforts. The fire caused extensive damage to the restrooms and only minor damage to the maintenance building. Smoke damage was heavy throughout the entire structure. No injuries were reported at the time of this report. Firefighters were assisted by FWPD, TRAA, AEP, NIPSCO, NCC and Concordia Highschool representatives.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
